1. Information We Collect

We collect information when you create an account, subscribe, make a purchase, or interact with content on our platform:

• Account: Email address (used for sign-in and communication)
• Subscription & Purchases: Transaction records, subscription status, and billing history (managed by Stripe)
• Engagement: Comments, likes, and ratings you leave on videos
• Moderation: When you report a comment or block another member, we record that action (who acted, what was reported or blocked, and the reason given) to keep the community safe and comply with app store requirements
• Usage: Pages visited and general browsing patterns (anonymized analytics)
• Reader Quiz (optional): If you choose to take our reader quiz, we store your favorite story categories and tropes, anything you write about the stories you would like to see, your birthday (and, if you choose to share it, the year you were born), and your country. Every personal question can be skipped, and you can edit or retake the quiz anytime from your Account page

Beyond your email and the optional quiz answers above, we do not collect names, physical addresses, or other personal data.

2. Payment Processing

All payments — subscriptions and one-time purchases — are processed by Stripe. We never see, store, or have access to your credit card details. Stripe handles all payment information securely under their own privacy policy.

3. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used to:

• Authenticate your account and manage your subscription
• Deliver purchased video links via email
• Display your comments, ratings, and likes on the platform
• Send checkout recovery reminders if a purchase session was not completed
• Personalize story recommendations based on your optional reader quiz answers
• Respond to support requests

We will never sell, rent, or share your email with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Analytics and Session Recording

We use analytics to understand how MyStories is used, on the website and in the mobile app — which pages are viewed, which stories are opened, and where readers run into trouble. This may include Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity.

Microsoft Clarity records how you interact with MyStories — taps and clicks, scrolling, and the screens you visit — and replays it as a session recording, which we also use to build heatmaps.

Text is masked before it leaves your device. Clarity is set to strict masking on both the website and the mobile app, so the words on your screen — including your name and email address — are replaced with blocks in the recording. What we see is the layout and where you tapped or scrolled, not what it said. Card and payment details are never captured either: they are entered inside our payment provider’s own secure frame, which the recording cannot see.

On the website, analytics and session recording load only after you accept cookies. If you decline, neither one runs. In the mobile app there is no cookie banner, so both analytics and session recording start when you open the app. You can ask us to stop them for your account, or to delete recordings already made, by writing to support@mystoriesromance.com.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account information, purchase records, subscription history, and engagement data (comments, likes, ratings) for as long as your account is active or as needed for customer support and legal obligations. Moderation records (reports and blocks) are kept while they remain relevant to community safety and to meet app store requirements. You may request deletion of your data by contacting us.
